How to Deal with Nuisance Critters

• Observe signs: droppings, tracks, noises, damage (e.g., chewed wires, torn insulation).
• Common nuisance animals include: raccoons, squirrels, skunks, groundhogs, opossums, rats, birds, and snakes. 

• Take note of property destruction: siding, roofing, gardens, insulation, wiring, etc.
• Determine if there's an immediate safety hazard (e.g., fire risk from chewed wires, health risk from droppings).

• Many regions have laws protecting certain wildlife.
• In our area, there are regulations covering bats, migratory birds (eg. woodpeckers, robins, starlings) and many more that can have serious consequences. 

• Look for professionals licensed in nuisance wildlife control or pest removal.

  • Humane trapping and relocation (if legal)
  • Sealing entry points
  • Cleaning and sanitizing infested areas

• Motion-activated sprinklers/lights
• Ultrasonic repellents
• Natural deterrents (e.g., vinegar, predator urine)

• Seal holes in siding, vents, roofs, or crawl spaces.
• Trim trees away from your roofline.
• Secure trash cans and pet food.
• Install chimney caps, vent covers, and sturdy fencing.
